Are refurbished iPhones safe to buy?

Yes — when you buy from Oz Tech Deals, every refurbished iPhone is completely safe to purchase. Each device is tested against 72 quality checkpoints using Phonecheck™ software, cross-checked against the national police lost and stolen database, data wiped to factory settings, and backed by a comprehensive 24-month warranty. You get all the performance of a new device at a fraction of the price.

What does the 24-month warranty cover?

Our 24-month warranty covers all internal device faults and hardware defects that arise from normal use. This includes issues with the screen, camera, speakers, microphone, charging port, Face ID, and more. We also include a 12-month specific warranty on the battery. If anything goes wrong, simply contact our team and we will repair or replace your device at no cost to you.

What is the 72-point Phonecheck quality test?

The 72-point Phonecheck™ test is a rigorous diagnostic process performed by our certified technicians on every device before it reaches you. It checks every hardware component including the battery health percentage, screen responsiveness and colour accuracy, all cameras (front and rear), Face ID or Touch ID, speakers, microphone, charging port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G antenna, buttons, and more. A device must pass all 72 checks before it is listed for sale. This is the same technology used by Apple Authorised Service Providers.

Are the refurbished iPhones unlocked?

Yes, all refurbished iPhones sold by Oz Tech Deals are fully unlocked and compatible with any Australian carrier, including Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, and all MVNOs. You can simply insert your existing SIM card and start using your device immediately. There is no need to contact your carrier to unlock the phone.

What condition are the refurbished phones in?

Our refurbished iPhones are graded and sold in excellent cosmetic condition. Minor surface marks or micro-scratches may be present on the body of the phone — these are normal signs of previous use and do not affect functionality. All screens are in excellent condition with no cracks, dead pixels, or significant scratches. Every device looks and works like new. We only use genuine manufacturer parts in any repairs.

Do refurbished iPhones come with accessories?

Refurbished iPhones come with a USB-C or Lightning to USB-C charging cable (depending on the model) and a SIM ejector tool. They do not include a power adapter or earphones, in line with Apple's own packaging policy since 2020. We recommend our MagSafe accessories and fast-charge adapters, which you can add to your order at a discounted bundle price.

How fast is shipping from Oz Tech Deals?

We offer free express shipping Australia-wide on all orders. Most orders are dispatched the same business day if placed before 2pm AEST. Delivery typically takes 1–3 business days depending on your location. We ship to all states and territories including NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, NT, and ACT.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day no-questions-asked returns policy on all devices. If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase for any reason, simply contact us within 30 days of delivery and we will arrange a full refund or exchange at no cost to you. After 30 days, all devices remain covered by our 24-month warranty for any hardware faults.

What is the difference between refurbished and second-hand iPhones?

A second-hand iPhone is sold as-is, with no testing, no guarantee of quality, and no warranty — exactly as you find on Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace. A refurbished iPhone from Oz Tech Deals has been professionally inspected, repaired where necessary, cleaned, tested against 72 quality checkpoints, data wiped, and comes with a full 24-month warranty. Buying refurbished from a trusted retailer gives you the peace of mind of a new purchase at a significantly lower price.

Do you sell refurbished iPads and Samsung phones too?

Yes! In addition to refurbished iPhones, we sell certified refurbished iPads — including the iPad Air, iPad Pro, and standard iPad — as well as Samsung Galaxy smartphones. All iPads and Samsung devices go through the same rigorous 72-point quality check and are backed by our 24-month warranty with free express shipping Australia-wide.

Is Oz Tech Deals an Australian company?

Yes, Oz Tech Deals is proudly Australian-owned and operated. We are based in Australia, ship from Australian stock, and our customer support team is based in Australia. When you buy from us, you are supporting a local Australian business — and you get the peace of mind of dealing with a team that understands Australian consumer law and your rights as a buyer.

How much can I save on a refurbished iPhone compared to buying new?

You can typically save 30–50% compared to buying the same model brand new from Apple or a retailer like JB Hi-Fi. For example, a refurbished iPhone 14 Pro starts from around $799 at Oz Tech Deals, compared to the original retail price of $1,699. A refurbished iPhone 13 starts from $499, compared to its launch price of $1,349. The savings are significant — and you still get a 24-month warranty.

Ali from Oz Tech Deals is absolutely amazing! Our work laptop was completely dead, and I thought we had lost everything. Ali managed to bring it back to life and, most importantly, recovered all of my files and data.
His service was incredibly fast, he kept me updated throughout the entire process, and his communication was excellent. It’s rare to find someone so knowledgeable, reliable, and genuinely committed to helping their customers.
I can’t thank Ali enough for saving our laptop and all of our important work. I highly recommend Oz Tech Deals to anyone needing computer repairs or tech support. Five stars!
